For years, syndication was simple: MLSs chose a technology partner to provide syndication and brokers generally sent their listings everywhere. But it’s not that simple any more: more and more larger MLSs, brokerages, and franchisors are sending their listings “direct” to the large portals in exchange for certain benefits. Listing owners are also choosing new methods for listing distribution, and re-evaluating “responsible listing distribution” while being more selective and demanding a better value exchange.
